ABOUT NIENE.NU

WELCOME TO MY WEBSITE!

I am niene.nu, a green art and project photographer, based in Groningen, the Netherlands.
As a photographer I am also a bandmember of super band De Wisch.

At this moment I use photography to express inner concepts. To me it’s great to be able to actually make the images that are living in my head. In doing so, I love to experiment and by experimenting with different materials and techniques, I sometimes get to meet the boundries of photography.

‘Mash ups’ is a term I use to describe the technique of layering and blending several photographs to create a totally new ‘world’ evoking strong emotions and thoughts.

The word has its roots in the music industry and is used to describe a mix of totally different songs into a brand new sound. Songs that seemingly have nothing to do with each other nicely blend into a totally new entity. It describes at best what I do with my photography.

I make these mash ups with a special situation, location or project in mind. This is why I call them ‘mash ups in situ’.

I hope you like my work/website and please come back soon to check on new material!
